Dr. Leong-Sit is Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Alberta. His subspecialty is Cornea and External disease and Anterior Segment surgery. Prior to completing his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Alberta and its affiliated hospitals in 1997, Dr. Leong-Sit was a Family Practitioner in Edmonton with certification through the Canadian College of Family Practice (CCFP). He attained certification in Ophthalmology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) in 1997 and then went on to obtain subspecialty training in Cornea and External Disease at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Dr. Leong-Sit is a member of the Canadian Ophthalmology Society (COS), the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), and the Canadian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (CSCRS).

Dr. Leong-Sit trained in corneal transplantation, ocular surface reconstruction, cataract and refractive surgery under Drs. Krachmer, Hardten, Holland and Doughman, world authorities in corneal surgery at the University of Minnesota. He performed his first laser vision correction procedure in 1997 and has since performed over 15,000 procedures in the Edmonton Region. He has extensive surgical experience with multiple laser technologies including VisX, Nidek, Bausch and Lomb/Technolas, and Wavelight. He looks forward to helping future patients attain freedom from dependence on glasses or contact lenses through refractive surgery.

Dr. Leong-Sit is actively involved in Ophthalmology Residency Training through the University of Alberta and teaches and lectures regularly to training Ophthalmologists through the Regional Eye Care Center at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. He provides Ocular Surface and Corneal Consultative Care for the Region of Edmonton and Northern Alberta, and performs Corneal Transplantation and Cataract surgery through the Regional Eye Care Center. He is currently in private practice with his father, Dr. F.L. Leong-Sit who has been practicing Ophthalmology in Edmonton for over thirty years.
