Eye with spherical abberation
What is Spherical Aberration?
With Spherical Aberration you will experience Blurry Images at in the Daytime and Night time. This is because the Peripheral light rays (blue line) do not meet at one focal point on the retina this can result in blurred colours and dull colours.

How can the AcrySof® IQ IOL correct Spherical Aberration?
The Solution is from the correction provided by AcrySof® IQ IOL breakthrough lens technology. The AcrySof® IQ’s revolutionary design addresses spherical aberrations to give you clear and sharp images, day and night. It does this by correct bending of light rays to meet at one focal point on the retina to provide the vision correction.

Eye without spherical abberation
How does it Restore the full Range of Vision?
A traditional monofocal IOL provides crisp distant vision. Patients may require glasses for near vision.  The AcrySof® ReSTOR® IOL provides a full range of quality vision – near, intermediate and distance.

As you age, your full range of vision naturally declines and you gradually lose the ability to focus on objects held at normal reading distance resulting in distorted and blurred vision. This is known as presbyopia.
