Dr. Leong-Sit, Medical Director of Eye Q, has been performing refractive and cataract surgery in the Capital Region since returning from corneal subspecialty training in 1998. Since that time, he has had the privilege of participating in the exciting experience of laser vision correction for thousands of patients. This life-changing surgery has matured to a very controlled and predictable procedure for those fortunate enough to meet candidacy requirements. At Eye Q, we pride ourselves in applying the strictest medical criteria for candidacy. We are one of the first providers of laser vision correction in Western Canada to apply the latest diagnostic technology, the Pentacam High Resolution eye imaging system, to help us with establishing candidacy. We recognize that the conservative approach likely rules out some patients who would 'probably' be fine, but we recognize also that ‘probably’ is not good enough for your eyes. |

Eye Q is committed to surgical service provision only by local corneal fellowship trained surgeons. These are individuals who commit to service within their own community, to care of their patients from start to finish, and to provision of tertiary level subspecialty surgical care when necessary. This is a level of skill and commitment acquired by extra subspecialty training above the level of residency training required by a General Ophthalmologist. Corneal specialists perform corneal transplants, deal with medical and surgical conditions of the cornea, and accept referrals from Optometrists and General Ophthalmologists for corneal and refractive surgery.
